About Paula Vickers
Primarily practising TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Acupuncture
and Reflexology, Paula provides personal and corporate treatments,
in the home and office subject to availability and an appropriate
environment.
She also
offers limited appointments at Serenity Spa and Beauty in Yeadon,
Leeds and Wakefield.
Paula has always had a keen interest in how and why people become
sick. However, western medicine never appealed to her and she followed
a conventional path into employment in corporate industry. This
included eight years in the civil service and ten years in commercial
software development. However, the stress of the rat race and the
distress wrought by personal losses developed into significant
health problems and, at a critical point, her interest became personal
and urgent.
With a strong intuitive conviction that the answers lay within
her own self, she was led to investigate holistic forms of medicine.
Perhaps somewhat inevitably, her personally driven investigation
eventually morphed into complete retraining. Now, her personal
quest has become her life’s work: helping other people
alleviate physical, mental and emotional problems utilising holistic
models and methods, that both make common sense and are effective. Paula’s personal development and professional skills have
enabled her to help many people. Her aim is to listen to you and
to accept you on every level, allowing the landscape that is you
to unfold. From within this landscape a professional partnership
can be created where you can resume control of your health and
your experience of life.
Paula is heavily influenced by her study of Traditional
Chinese Medicine at the highly regarded Northern
College of Acupuncture in York, and whether practising
acupuncture, reflexology or massage, the basic
foundations upon which Chinese medicine is built deeply inform
her work.
She meets her unrelenting fascination with the nature of ‘how
we work’ through her commitment to Continuing Professional
Development (CPD), which progressively deepens and broadens the
insights, tools and resources she can bring to the therapeutic
relationship.
